An Analogy about Politics…

January 8, 2009 at 3:42 pm (Jokes) (, , )

SUMS IT UP whether Democrat or Republican, I think you’ll get a kick out of this!

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, ‘What is Politics?’‘ Dad says, ‘Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I am the head of the family, so call me The President . Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government . We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you The People .

The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we will call him the Future . Now think about that and see if it makes sense.’

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper.

So the little boy goes to his parents’ room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny’s room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.

Next morning, the little boy say’s to his father, ‘Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now.’ The father says, ‘Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.’
The little boy replies,

The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep s***!!.

A very nice analogy, isn’t it? :o

Friends by Michael W. Smith

Friends by Michael W. Smith

Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can’t believe the hopes He’s granted
Means a chapter in your life is through

Refrain:
But we’ll keep you close as always
It won’t even seem you’ve gone
‘Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

Chorus:
And friends are friends forever if the Lord’s the Lord of them
And a friend will not say “NEVER” cause the welcome will not end
Though it’s hard to let you go, in the Father’s hands we know
That a lifetime’s not too long to live as friends

With the faith and love God’s given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you’ll live in
Is the strength that now you show

Repeat Refrain and Chorus…

Coda:
That a lifetime’s not too long to live as friends..2x

Which is Which? Which is Right or Wrong?

January 2, 2009 at 5:37 pm (Charity/Love) (, , )

Which is Which?

Fight for your love or set them free?

Which is Right?

Forgive then forget or Forget then forgive?

What is Really Right?

I love you because I need you or I need you because I love you?

Should It Be?

To see is to believe or Believe when you see it?

Does It Have To Be?

Action speaks louder than words but still words hurt more than action?

Is It?

Love for a reason or The reason is love?

Let me know what you think. Just add your comment below.

The Important Things In Life……………

December 16, 2008 at 5:05 pm (Spiritual) (, , , )

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2″ in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.” “Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The rocks are the important things – your Church, your Ministry, your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car.

The sand is everything else, the small stuff.” “If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pray everyday to God, give thanks for what He has done, Love every one and Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house and give a dinner. Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”
